“Either run the day, or the day runs you.” – Jim Rohn
Interesting time of year. School is almost out, and there are lots of students graduating (like my son, Parker). It’s also that time of year where people are moving (which I am doing this week), and planning out summer activities, vacations, lessons, carpools (doing that, too).
Anyone feeling a bit overwhelmed?
If so, take a deep breath and know I gotcha covered. It’s hard to be productive, perform at a high level, and help others when you’re trying to fit a 2-ton boulder into a small box. So, I have some resources to share with you – these are things that have helped me, as well as thousands of others.
First, an experienced, talented time management coach I highly recommend:
Dr. Sarah Reiff-Hekking at http://www.truefocuscoaching.com/. She does personal coaching, offers tools/resources, and runs a program you can check out.
Next, an online program I signed up for that sends (very short) daily thoughts that open up the space in your head and help you land in the right place. It’s called “Daily Om” at www.DailyOm.com and it offers amazing inspiration, courses, pictures, and resources. The one I went through is: A Year to clear What is Holding You Back!
Third (I’m on a roll!), there’s a popular journal out there highly endorsed by Tim Ferriss and used by several coaches/speakers I know. It’s called “The Five-Minute Journal” and as the title implies, if you shudder at the thought of ‘journaling’, this literally takes 5 minutes and can improve your life. http://amzn.to/2qHT9jw
Finally, there’s a fabulous book I recommend, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing: http://amzn.to/2rM47SE
Challenge: Quit making it so hard. Pick ONE thing you can do to simplify your life. Just remember: the more you can start your day with big picture thinking and planning (rather than diving frantically into activity), the more relaxed and productive you will be the entire day.
